La Salle Boys Club (Class of '76)
This site is created with the objective of allowing the La Salle Boys (Class of '76) to stay connected. With more than 20 years of lost communication, the Boys have lots of catching up to do. It is hoped that this site is well used by all of us. "He removes the greatest ornament of friendship, who takes away from it respect" Cicero, Roman author, orator, & politician (106 BC - 43 BC).

Can the Engineers in the Group give us a brief on the advantages of a flat roof top for the new wing? Can the Drs. of the group brief us on the effects of the asbestos roofing of the older wing?
Can the Artists of the group interpret the meaning of the mural? and the time capsules contained in the green half bottles of Kickapoo that help make the circle of the mural - can the Biologists tell us if organisms that were captured still survive or indeed trive into colonies? Can the bullies of the group recall who smeared shit on Dennis's car?
Can any of us truthfully really say we DID NOT have to pick up pieces paper from the courtyard as punishment? Didnt at least half of us first knew of the meaning of "roasting in the sun" from standing at some point of this school? Where the new wing stands - how many recall playing marbles under the trees? Did the trees have thorns? How many lorry loads of sawdust was used to cover the marble playing arena? How many of our Mothers had complained about the red/orange sawdust staining our uniforms/shoes? Why was the sawdust orange/red....Chengal? Teak?
FU*K the memories pour in man ...like crazy! and lastly was the fire hydrant in the photo always there?... Did Chandra always guard it? hehehe....
In extension to previous anonymous .....do you still have handwriting that get's you accused of being shitfaced (drunk) at 10 in the morning....what was it called Brother Gaston rapid writing skills....should be been called worm on "goyang kepala" extascy doing wee wee on paper....how the lawyers in this group ever passed their exams is beyond me.....who else still has an urge to freeze whenever they hear a bell ring (recess over....), continuation got you slapped by Dennis.....how about playing sepak takraw on the fence on the field perimeter where some of the new blocks are on....and jumping on the fence (insted of over) when he/she (???) won......And the beauty and grace of dodging a wet tennis ball soaked full of "mud and other shit" in a game revered as "chopping"......and comming to afternoon school at 11 pm to play chopping when it actually began at 1 pm (??)....."best" is driving past a wet football field after a rainshower.....and watching the kids play and totally understanding...the rush
and then watching 'blue birds' walking by the fence while it was still there, kunta kunte (f*** I don't even know how to spell this), bottle cap challenge and wearing out our prestigious Fung Keongs and Badminton Masters, watching 'blue birds' going home in sampans after a heavy rain (the field used to flood), cant't remember his name but he got possesed by a demon while camping along the river bank at the end of the field
It was S.Ravi possessed and running toward the river.
Who remembers playing football in that vast field and stumbling on a buried car tyre? Greater finds as the years went by... a partially decomposed 'whole' fridge near the wayward side of the field from the Gardener's house.... Who remembers his name gets one jug of beer payable in RM on "happy hour" prices...... sorry lah Viets, 'USA'-ans, UKinks and AhSengs.
Gosh these memories are precious and I love it! Kinda like having died and sitting at Judgment day with your early life running before your eyes.....ha ha. Dont die yet as we still have Bangkok to cover this year - after that you can die in peace.
Qn: can the Drs of the group tell me why I now fear coconut husk? Is it a phobia?
Ans: It is a phobia! It probably stems from your childhood participation in sports - particularly the High Jump event. Your landing was not soft but therein lies your fear for coconut husks!!!! I would also venture to dare say that the cure is at hand; for while you fear the coconut husk.. the Todi shops, ubiquitous near LSB would numb your pain/fears. All is not lost! as far as that fruit goes...
Guys,
All of you have captured that era in its true sense.I have been searching for a La Salle Brickfiels website since wayback, but suprisingly, this morning at 6am,on a public holiday here in East Malaysia ,I decided to try,and hit Jackpot!
